March 2017: Gregory P. Goonan, our founder and managing shareholder, was once again named one of the Top Lawyers in San Diego in the category of Litigation & Business Matters in the March 2017 edition of San Diego Magazine.

February 2017: Following a week-long bench trial in San Diego Superior Court, the Firm obtained a five-figure verdict for our client in a case for breach of an expert services contract.

February 2017: Gregory P. Goonan was privileged to serve as a judge for the San Diego High School Mock Trial Competition.

December 2016: The Firm is pleased to announce that we have relocated our offices to Water Garden Business Services, 5755 Oberlin Drive, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92121. Our new space is larger and will allow us to provide better service to our clients.

November 2016: The Firm was able to negotiate a highly favorable settlement for its client on various business torts claims in parallel cases pending in San Diego Superior Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California.

August 2016: The Firm was able to obtain dismissal of breach of promissory note claims in a case pending in San Diego Superior Court.

August 2015: Following a two-week jury trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the Firm obtained a jury verdict for its client, a Chinese medical device manufacturer, on breach of contract and breach of warranty claims against it.

January 2014: In a case before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the Firm successfully prosecuted a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction and venue and obtained dismissal of a trademark infringement action against a client headquartered in Houston, Texas.

November 2013: Following a three-week jury trial in San Diego Superior Court, the Firm obtained a seven-figure jury verdict for our client in an eminent domain case that raised complicated issues concerning severance damages.

March 2013: In a case in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, The Affinity Law Group represented two biotechnology companies who were sued for patent infringement and various business torts. The Firm is proud to announce that it obtained a summary judgment and judgment of complete dismissal of the case on behalf of the clients, as well as an attorneys’ fee award in the amount of $67,775.00.

February 2013: Greg Goonan was privileged to serve as a judge for the prestigious Paul A. McLennon, Sr., Honors Moot Court Competition sponsored by the University Of San Diego School Of Law.

February 2013: Greg Goonan was pleased to serve as a judge for the mock trial competition sponsored by the University of California San Diego.

January 2013: In a case in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, The Affinity Law Group represented a client in the niche travel market in a trademark and domain name dispute and was able to negotiate an extremely favorable settlement which protected and strengthened the client’s trademarks against the client’s main competitor.

January 2013: In a case in the El Cajon branch of the San Diego Superior Court, the Firm successfully litigated a contempt petition against a person who violated various injunctions issued by the court to protect the trademarks of the Firm’s client. The defendant was convicted of 34 violations of the court’s orders and will be sentenced on May 9, 2013.

December 2012: In a case in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the Firm defeated a motion for sanctions brought against the Firm’s client for alleged violations of a deposition subpoena. The sanctions motion sought sanctions in the amount of $43,030.75 but the Firm’s attorneys were able to convince the court that it should not award any sanctions at all.
